All publications of the N.C. Department of Labor should be edited according to the rules set forth in The Associated Press Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law with exceptions as noted in this abbreviated style manual. The Chicago Manual of Style should be used as a supplement for issues that the AP stylebook does not deal with. This abbreviated style manual does not attempt to be a comprehensive guide to grammar and punctuation.
Articles written by departmental staff for submission to an external organization, such as for publication in a law journal, may follow a requested style manual.
